Magnesium Chloride Dust Control
Magnesium Chloride is a tried and trusted solution for dust control on dirt roads, construction sites, baseball fields, and aggregate surfaces. It works in a way similar to Calcium Chloride as it is also a hygroscopic material that sucks moisture from the air to make the surface damp. It also binds dust particles together for less road deterioration and maintenance requirements.
While Calcium Chloride is known to last longer than Magnesium Chloride for dust control, Magnesium Chloride has proven to be better at containing small dust particles and hardening surfaces. The Magnesium Chloride molecule is smaller, therefore bonding to even the smallest dust particles, keeping them damp.
Why Magnesium Chloride for Dust Control?
Magnesium Chloride is another great solution for dust control (in addition to Calcium Chloride). here’s why:

Magnesium chloride is “more effective than calcium chloride solutions for increasing surface tension, resulting in a very hard road surface.”
