With the advent of winter it seems there’s a never-ending supply of new videos of the effects of snow and ice on people and their vehicles when no ice melt is used. And we’re here to share them with you as a warning and sometimes comic relieft. If you are a snow removal contractor, you know that when snow, ice, and vehicles come together, some crazy things can happen…
What do you get when you mix an icy street, snow, and a couple of dozen hapless drivers? You get this video set to music. The music is funny, but the effects of ice on these drivers and their poor cars is anything but. People who live in the snowy mountains of Colorado are generally pretty experienced at driving in the icy stuff – which just goes to show how crazy things can get when trying to drive (or stop) on sheer ice.
Add two inches of snow to a hilly street in Seattle and you get this ‘moving’ video. The scariest part is the city bus traveling sideways down the street! It seems that pedestrians in Seattle need to get a little more familiar with the effects of ice on tires, too. Their lack of concern with what is going on around them is amazing – and a little scary!
Wow! It seems that even something as heavy as a snow plow is no match for really icy roads – especially on a hill. Aren’t you glad that wasn’t one of your snow plow drivers? Maybe the city should try using an ice melt product before sending out the plows.
Crazy things can happen to even the most experienced drivers braving winter ice and snow. Don’t let your snow removal company end up as the one responsible for incidents like these. Instead, contact us for all of your ice melt and snow removal tools – and stay off YouTube!
